This article goes over how to create an announcement to share with your Crik-IT portal users. You can use Crik-IT's Announcements feature to announce product launches, exclusive releases, share links, and so much more.
Note that announcements circulate in rotation. This means that your saved announcements (with no end date and marked as "Active"). will be displayed alternatively in the announcements banner at the top of the Crik-IT portal.
Create an Announcement
Start by logging into your Crik-IT portal, then go to the Tools tab and click on “Maintain Announcements” under "Other Tools".
Click on “Add New Announcement” at the top of the page.
How It Works
Choose the start and end date you want your announcement to appear on your users' Crik-IT portal.
If you are announcing a company event or a limited release, for example, you can configure the announcement to appear and end on specific dates.
There is also an "Active" checkbox next to the start and end dates. If you uncheck this box, the announcement will no longer be displayed in Crik-IT.
This does not delete the announcement. You can therefore change the status of an announcement to either active or inactive at any time.
If you do not set an end date, and do not uncheck the "Active" checkbox, the announcement will continue to circulate in Crik-IT, in rotation with your other announcements.
You can then type in what you wish to share with your portal users in the "Announcement" text box. For example, "New Product Line Launching on July 3rd!"
You can also insert a link in the announcement, such as a webpage or a YouTube video. Add the link in the "URL for more info text box".
If you don't want to have the URL in the announcement itself, type in the text you wish the link to be contained in, in "Text to use for link".
Once you are ready to save your announcement, click on "Save Announcement".
If you wish to edit your announcement, or any previous announcement, click on "Change" on that announcement's line.
