Here's what you need to know.
Order Entry:
- When a customer user orders a bundle item, they cannot see or make any changes to the items that make up the bundle. The order will contain the bundle detail items as defined in the bundle set-up in QuickBooks.
- When a rep or in-house user orders a bundle item, the items that make up the bundle do not immediately show up. The user can click on the "Show" link to the right of the Qty field to have the bundle details show up. Then the user can change the quantity and/or price of any of the items that make up the bundle. An item cannot be added to the bundle being ordered, but an item can be removed by setting the quantity of that to zero.
- The price of a bundle item itself cannot be changed by any user. If the price of the bundle item should be different, rep and in-house users can change the price of the individual items that make up the bundle.
- Note that Crik-IT handles bundle detail item "quantities" a bit differently than QuickBooks when entering an order for a bundle item. In Crik-IT, the quantity entered for a bundle detail line is the quantity PER BUNDLE, not the total quantity of that item for the order. So Crik-IT will multiply the order quantity for the bundle item itself by the quantity entered for the bundle detail line to arrive at the total quantity of that detail item for that bundle.
- Note that bundle items on the order cannot be "dragged" to re-order lines on the order. Non-bundle items can be. If necessary, you can delete and re-add lines to get them in the appropriate order.
Printing/previewing Orders, Confirmations, or Invoices:
Bundle detail lines will show on printed forms only if you have configured the bundle components to show when setting up the bundle item in QuickBooks:
IMPORTANT:
- Note: All the 'children items' of a bundle should be sent over to Crik-IT, otherwise this will cause issues with bundle items for every user.
- Bundles cannot be used with volume pricing: Because of the way a bundled item's price is calculated, you must not apply volume pricing to a bundle item. If you do so, unexpected results may occur.
- Components of bundle items always use the price that comes over from QuickBooks, not special pricing you upload from a spreadsheet.
- If you are limiting which items come into the Crik-IT portal from your QuickBooks Online, you need to be aware of these factors:
- If you are bringing over only those items that you mark as "We sell this item" in QuickBooks Online, ALL bundle items will be brought over to Crik-IT. This is because it is not possible in QuickBooks to mark a bundle item as an item that you sell, so we bring all bundle items over.
- If you are bringing over items based on "ItemToCrikIT" or "DoNotSendToCrik-IT" being in the QuickBooks product purchase description, ALL bundle items will be brought over to Crik-IT. This is because there is no Purchase Description for bundle items in QuickBooks, so we bring all bundle items over.
- If you are bringing over items based on "To-Portal" or "No-Portal" being somewhere in the SKU field, Crik-IT will pull over only the bundle items that meet your criteria. We are able to do this because bundle items DO have an SKU field available in QuickBooks (if you are using that feature).
- Note: If the 'See quote/order line images' feature is turned on for a customer in Crik-IT

- And that customer cannot purchase a particular item, but that item is part of a bundle that they can purchase, the results might be unpredictable.

- Can users see the components of a bundle item? Only rep and in-house users can see the bundle details (or components). The only way to see the details or components is while entering an order for a bundle item, then clicking the "Show" link to the right of the order quantity for the bundle item:
