Step 1: Connect to Stripe & Configure Your Settings
Start by connecting to Stripe from your CrikSales account. Go to Tools > Stripe Payment Configuration. There, click ‘Connect with Stripe’.
You’ll be prompted to log into your Stripe account.
Once you’re connected, configure your general payment settings. You can choose to accept credit card payments and/or ACH payments; and choose the currency. Please note: The currency selected applies to all customer payments.
If you turn on the ACH payment option, you can assess your account’s readiness to receive ACH payments. What this indicates:
- Vendor Settings → This means you’ve enabled ACH payments for customers
- Customers opted in → This means you’ve enabled accepting ACH payments from specific customers through customer settings. More on this later!
- Currency is → Indicates your chosen payment currency.
- Stripe account activation → indicates that ACH Direct Debit is activated on the connected Stripe account.
You’ll see the connected stripe account details and options under ‘Stripe Account Management’.
Make sure to click ‘Save Payment Settings’ to save your configuration.
Step 2: Configure Payment Option for Customers
You can now enable Stripe payments for your customers and configure their payment options.
There are two ways you can configure this:
- Via ‘Customer User Config’ under Tools → Note: This is the quickest option.
- Via Customer Settings on each customer’s details page.
Customer User Config
Go to 'Customer User Config' in Tools.
Click ‘Configure’ for each customer you want to receive payments from.
This will open the 'Customer Settings' screen. There, click ‘Payment Configuration’.
Check “Yes, this customer can pay invoices in CrikSales Portal”, and say whether you allow payments via ACH, credit card, or both.
Payment at Check-Out Options:
- If you want your customer to pay for invoices only, keep the default “No, this customer cannot pay for an order when submitting it”.
- If you want to offer your customer the option to pay upon checkout, select “Yes, this customer may pay for an order when submitting it, but is not required to”
- If you want to require your customer to pay upon checkout, select “This customer MUST pay for an order when submitting it”
Make sure to click on ‘Save Settings’ to save your configuration.
Repeat this process with all applicable customers.
Customer Details Page - Customer Settings
Go to the Customers tab and drill down into the customer by clicking on their name or the eye icon.
Click on 'Customer Settings'.
This will open the 'Customer Settings' screen. There, click ‘Payment Configuration’.
Check “Yes, this customer can pay invoices in CrikSales Portal”, and say whether you allow payments via ACH, credit card, or both.
Select your 'Payment at Check-Out' options. See above for details.
Make sure to click 'Save Settings'.
How Customers Will Make Payments
Paying Invoices
Upon logging into their B2B portal, your customers will see the balance they currently owe you. Clicking on their balance will take them to the unpaid invoices in their invoice tab.
Under ‘Pay Balance’ they will see a Pay link. Clicking on the pay link will open the Stripe payment window, where they will be able to proceed with payment per the configurations you’ve set for them.
The payment status will get updated on their invoice tab, and in your own CrikSales portal, under the customer’s invoice tab and on your Payments tab.
If a customer is paying via credit card, the payment will be instantaneous. If a customer is paying via ACH, the payment will be received within the standard ACH payment timeframe.
Paying at Check-Out Optional
If you selected “Yes, this customer may pay for an order when submitting it, but is not required to” your customer will be presented with the option to pay upon checkout when they submit their order.
Paying at Check-Out Required
If you selected “This customer MUST pay for an order when submitting it” your customer will be presented to pay in order to submit their order. If the customer does not make the payment, they will not be able to place their order.
Tracking Payment Status
B2B Portal View
As mentioned, customers will be able to see their payments’ status in their Invoices tab under ‘Pay Balance’. In the case of ACH, “Bank Payment Clearing” will be displayed until the payment is received.
Admin View
You’ll be able to see the invoice payment status in your portal as well, under the Payments tab. There, you’ll be able to see the payment status of any invoices for which a payment was initiated – whether the payment process was completed or not – across all customers.
