Leads are companies that you are hoping to get as customers.
Reps and in-house users can keep track of Leads in Crik-IT. Reps can only see Leads that are assigned to them. In-house users can see all Leads. Customer users cannot see Leads at all.
When a Lead is assigned to a rep, if that rep is set up as a Rep user in Crik-IT, Crik-IT will automatically email the rep to let him know that a lead has been assigned to him.
You can set up contacts for a Lead. For example, this could be the owner of the Lead company... a purchasing agent at the Lead company... or a consultant you are working with on this Lead.
Contact Notes can be attached to a Lead so you can keep track of tasks that you need to do for the Lead... or you can keep notes on your phone conversations, emails, and other communications with or on behalf of this Lead.
You can also track specific sales Opportunities for a Lead.
When a Lead becomes a customer, that Lead can be converted to a customer by clicking the Convert to Customer button, then selecting the appropriate customer.
Note: The customer must already have been set up in your own system and synced up to Crik-IT. Converting a Lead to a customer does not create a new customer in your system.
Once you select the appropriate customer, Crik-IT will then move all Contacts, Contact Notes, and Opportunities for the Lead to the customer you selected, and will then delete the Lead altogether. Be careful! This cannot be undone!
One more thing... you can assign a lead to one of your customers. So for example, if you get an inquiry from an end consumer on your website, you might give that lead to one of your customers or dealers that is in the area of the end consumer. With Crik-IT you can keep track of these leads and follow up on them with your customer.
In-house users can customize what shows up in the Lead Type, Status, and Next Step drop-down fields. This is done from the Tools menu, Maintain Drop Down Values area.
Note: Some fields may not appear on your screen depending on how your vendor has configured Crik-IT.
